| Introduction to GPS and ArcPad | ||||||||

| Overview: | ||||||||
| This workshop is designed as a prerequisite to Trimble’s 2 day “ArcPad for Mobile GIS Training” class. The format of the course is lecture, followed by setup of the GPS receiver and then an afternoon field session. We then return to the office after collecting data outside to post-process the GPS data and wrap up the class. The morning lecture portion is necessary so that the students have a certain amount of knowledge prior to going out in the field. | ||||||||

| Current GPS users. Existing ESRI users. People wanting to learn more about GIS or GPS. People who want to learn how to use ArcPad | ||||||||
| Prerequisites: | ||||||||
| This course is based on ArcPad Version 7.1 and a professional mapping grade Trimble GeoCE series (GeoXH, GeoXM, or GeoXT) GPS receiver. If you are using a previous version of ArcPad, or ArcPad 7.2, then the locations and names of some of the icons and functionality may not match exactly what is contained in our course book. Recreational GPS receivers (Garmin, Magellan, etc.) do not support ArcPad and will not be used in this class. Trimble GPS receivers will be provided for student use during class. | ||||||||
